I expected Tonkatsu Yachiyo (とんかつ八千代) serves sea eel (hamo) yet, and I went to Tsukiji Market early in the morning. Yachiyo serve roasted pork fillet and eggs set on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only. They are crowded from the morning the days. It’s Tuesday. So, it was nearly packed all the same. And many of them ordered roasted pork fillet and eggs set.

To tell the truth, I don’t like roasted pork fillet and eggs set very much because it’s heavy in the morning. And of course, I ate sea eel. I ordered sea eel, kuruma prawn and scallop set. Well, kuruma prawn make a good picture. That’s really photogenic.

Sea eel, kuruma prawn and scallop set (鱧・車海老・帆立定食) 1600 yen

It’s sea eel ! It tasted very light, so I ate it with a lot of tartar sauce. By the way, sea eel is called Hamo (鱧) in Japanese. It’s eaten in Kansai region, especially in Kyoto very well. But in Kanto region like Tokyo, Hamo is not common fish. It’s similar to conger eel (anago).

The scallop was bigger than A set and B set. Of course it has good reason that these are different in prices. Also rice and miso soup is included in the set.
