I had breakfast at Tian Tian Li Mei Shi Fang (天天利美食坊) next morning that I stayed in Ximending. I think this is the best spot for breakfast when staying in Ximending area.
There’s open-air kitchen, so its appearance is like Taiwanese market, but there’s many tables inside the house.
It is packed with counter seats, tables and people in the shop.
Of course, you can buy foods to go. They don’t have alcoholic drinks and don’t allow us to bring alcoholic drink.

Where?
It’s located off Hanzhong Street. Though it’s far from Ximen station (西門), it’s rather easy to find.
How to order
There’re order sheets at the entrance, so you bring it and take seats.
If you need, there’s English (and Japanese) menu, too. I knew later. But I didn’t need it.Chinese character is familiar to me and I enough searched about their foods in advance :p
After you fill out the order sheet, you hand it to staff. You need to pay at that time.
There’s a menu above the shop. They have various Taiwanese foods, especially suitable for breakfast.

I ordered Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) with fried egg and fish ball soup. Both was served quickly.

Foods that I had
Braised pork rice with egg
This is braised pork rice. Normal braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan / 滷肉飯) is 25 TWD.
But I ordered braised pork rice with fried egg (加煎蛋滷肉飯) and it cost me 35 TWD.
I heard adding half-cooked fried egg on it is best choice at this shop in advance, so I ordered it without hesitation. I love half-cooked fried egg. I love melting yolk !
Many Taiwanese restaurant serve cooked egg, and half-cooked egg is rare.

It don’t have much flavor of star anise and another Chinese spice. It’s easy to eat who don’t like Taiwanese spice. Much meat is hidden between fried egg and rice. Also I think their rice is better than another shop. To tell the truth, I didn’t feel I ate Taiwanese foods. It’s similar to Japanese foods.

There’s chili oil on each table. I love spicy foods, so I put some onto my braised pork rice after a while. It’s delicious. Don’t worry. This chili oil isn’t as spicy as its looking.

Fish ball soup
Also I ordered soup. Fish ball soup (魚丸湯, 30 TWD). Two soft fish balls in it. Rather big. Green things are celery. It had refreshing taste and was good.

There’re minced fish inside the fish ball ! Amazing.
Such a lightly seasoned soup is really good with greasy minced pork rice !

They are open from morning to late night. So, we can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at there !
In Ximending, there’s another restaurant that serve good Ru Lou Fan. It is a branch of Jin Feng (金峰魯肉飯). I recommend them, too.
