I visited Izu the other day, and I got off at Atami station on my way to Shimoda to have tuna bowl as lunch. But unfortunately my target shop was crowded. I had to get on a train in 50 minutes, so I gave up waiting and I walked around Atami station to buy tuna bowl instead. And then I found this shop. The shop’s name is Atami-ekimae Osakanadon-ya (熱海駅前おさかな丼屋). They were open in June, 2020. They are still new.
They seemed to accept TO GO only from outside, but there are tables and chairs. But some people bought tuna bowl and ate at the bench in front of the shop because of covid-19. There are many benches along the pavement.
Menu. All TO GO and FOR HERE is OK. They recommend Kaisen Teppen-don (海鮮てっぺん丼). It looks like mountain. And another they have tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, Ajiro mackerel, Atami salmon and so on. My tuna bowl was complete in 5 minutes. They have official website and have photos of menu.
Though Teppen-don attracted me, I wanted to eat in the train with easily, so I bought lean meat of tuna bowl. My tuna bowl was in such a cute pink plastic bag ! And there’s a handwriting message.
At first, I was disappointed because I couldn’t find soy sauce. But this is soy sauce. Cute…
And tuna was, of course, good. It had much sliced fresh tuna. The vinegared rice was completely covered with red tuna. It had refreshing tastes and was good.
But those are thinly sliced. So, I didn’t feel it had much tuna. So, I thought 1290 yen is expensive a bit. I recognized why they recommend and many people like Teppen-don. Teppen-don is valuable.
