Kanazawa’s specialty as sushi !

We had dinner at this sushi restaurant at second night at Kanazawa. Otomezushi.

I heard it is really difficult to reserve popular sushi restaurants in Kanazawa and Otomezushi is one of the restaurant.

夕食はこちらで。金沢の人気のお寿司屋さんはどこも予約が取りずらいそうで、こちらもその一つ。

After we were seated, the lady asked to us about our drinks. So, I ordered Japanese sake 🙂

カウンターの奥に座ると、飲み物を聞かれたので、なんとなーく、日本酒を。(なんか意味ありげな配置にしてみました)

We ordered course that have tsumami and sushi.

Well, I expected that the course have blackthroat seaperch, gasu shrimp and whelk because those are Kanazawa’s specialty seafood 🙂

Flat fish (ヒラメ)
Our course started from sashimi. This flat fish had springy texture 🙂

おつまみと握りのコース。お刺身から始まります。このヒラメ、弾力があっておいしい。

Botan shrimp (ボタンエビ)
It had sticky texture and tasty.

卵をまとったボタンエビもねっとりとしてオイシイ。エビ好きにはうれしい。

Whelk (梅貝)

外側が焼かれ、中はレアで、クリーミー。とってもおいしいです。

そしてやっぱりノドグロ!石川名物!脂がすごい!

Sweet shrimp (甘エビ)
First sushi was sweet shrimp (northern shrimp) 🙂
As its name, it was so sweetand had springy texture. Delicious.

握り1カン目は甘えび。甘くてぷりっとしておいしい!えびがいっぱいでてうれしい(*´Д`)

Yellowtail (ブリ)
Yellowtail was served again.
Toro part of yellowtail. Yes, so fatty as you see.

握りでもブリが出てきました。ブリトロ。脂のってます。

Neon flying squid (赤いか)
It had artistic cut !

切込みが芸術的な赤いかも甘味があって、歯ごたえがいいです(*´Д`)

Crab (かに)
Crabs meat with its brown meat. Maybe it’s snow crab.

蟹みそがのった蟹の身もみずみずしい。

Toro part of tuna (トロ)
It had tendon and it might no be good-looking, but it was fatty and tasty.

見た目はスジがあってアレですけど、このトロも脂がのってておいしかったです。

Last food of our course was Miso soup with Ebi shinjou (エビしんじょうのみそ汁)
Ebi shinjou is minced shrimp ball.

お味噌汁にはエビしんじょうが。

We asked the chef about another seafood for sushi. The chef recommended some and we ordered one of it from his recommendation.
We thought we should eat Gasu shrimp (ガスエビ) all the same 🙂
We can’t eat it at Kanto region like Tokyo.

最後にガスエビを注文。やっぱり食べないと!ここでエビ3種類食べましたがどれもおいしかったです!

By the way, we ate three species of shrimp at this dinner.
Everything was quite different ! Everything was tasty.
Shrimp is also the specialty of Hokuriku area and restaurant around there can serve shrimps before losing their freshness. Of course, we can eat good shrimps in Tokyo, but it’s quite differ each other as its freshness.

I thought we can eat everything keeping its freshness in Tokyo, but I learned it isn’t a fact.
I should go out more ! 🙂

      I think so, too. I was lucky :p
      Winter is the best season to visit Kanazawa for eating local seafood though it is too cold !
