[Yokohama Chinatown] Sichuan foods at Keitokuchin (景徳鎮)

Kanagawa & Saitama

I like spicy foods. So, I love Sichuan foods in all Chinese foods genre. Keitokuchin (景徳鎮) is one of the most popular Sichuan foods restaurant in Yokohama Chinatown. Keitokuchin can occupy about 120 people in the restaurant. But still there are many people waiting in front of the restaurant. If you don’t want to wait so long, you’d better take reservation in advance at Savor Japan.

All Keitokuchin’s foods are large. So, I recommend you visit there at least 3-4 people.

Not only spicy foods but also they serve such mild foods. Fried crab meat and tofu. It’s seasoned with salt and have much flavor of crabs.

Fried Chinese vegetables had much green vegetables. This is Bok choy. We were six and it was best for us :p It was seasoned with salt and it didn’t have onion. It was light tastes.

They have two types of mapo tofu. This is normal Mapo tofu. It wasn’t spicy and was rather sweet. We order it because some of my friends who visit there with me didn’t like very spicy foods.

Mapo tofu (麻婆豆腐) 1200 yen

And this is Sichuan mapo tofu. It’s more spicy mapo tofu than normal mapo tofu above. When I ate it at first, I coughed because it’s very spicy. It has a strong smell of Sichuan pepper. It bites my tongue. But this mapo tofu is very good. It has a good taste and body of miso pork. Though we didn’t order rice, it must be good friend with mapo tofu.

I think Keitokuchin’s Sichuan mapo tofu is MUST when you visit Yokohama Chinatown for the first time if you love spicy foods !
