All sort of conger eel dishes.
I visited Kichiya thanks to my friend asked me to join their dinner. A few yars have passed since I visited there last time for dinner.

But I visited there some times at lunchtime 🙂
Kichiya is conger eel specialty restaruant.
Kichiya is in front of Namiyoke Inari Jinja shrine.
At first we tasted with drinks. My drink was lemon sour. It’s sour :X
Then tiny bowls were served. Vinegared conger eel, conger eel jelly and conger eel and mozuku seaweed.
We took a dinner course (about 5000 yen). Of course, Kichiya serve dishes having conger eel. Everything !
Edamame soup with grilled conger eel (枝豆のすり流し 焼き穴子添え)
Actually, it was more beautiful green than this photo 🙂
Assorted sashimi (お刺身盛り合わせ)
Lean meat of tuna, ark shell, flatfish and squid.
Conger eel sashimi (穴子の洗い、湯引き、昆布締め)
Three styles of conger eel sashimi.
Arai (washed), Yubiki (exposed in warm water quickly) and Konbu jime (sandwiched with konbu seaweed for a while)
Conger eels’ sashimi is rarely eaten because it gets old quickly. So, it’s precious opportunity !
Minced conger eel ball (穴子真丈 山葵 銀あん)
Densuke Anago conger eel (伝助穴子 白焼き 黄身焼き 肝を添えて)
Salted grilled conger eel, grilled conger eel with yolk sauce and its liver.
“Densuke Anago” is a kind of conger eel and it’s precious kind. It’s huger than another conger eel. This was the first time to eat Densuke Anago.
Conger eel Tempura (穴子天婦羅)
It was so crisp. And Conger eel in its inside was soft 🙂
Conger eel Uzaku-style salad (穴子うざく風サラダ)
Uzaku originally means cucumber and eel.
Last, meal was served.
Conger eel Bakashi (穴子のばかし)
Bakashi means “deceive”.
It looks like eel box (unajyu). But it’s not eel, but conger eel.
Eel is more fatty than conger eel. So, this conger eel box had refreshing tastes than eel box.But its meat was soft and tasty 🙂
I managed to eat it up. But I was full !
Yuzu sorbet (柚子のシャーベット)
It had refreshing tastes ! The flavor of yuzu was awesome.
Reservation is required in advance if you want to have dinner course, but you can enter the restaurant without reservation if you want to have simple dinner. But sometime they have full reservation, so, you’d better ask in advance if you visit there from distant area.
