I usually go to Tsukiji Market to have breakfast early in the weekdays’ morning. And some shops aren’t still open. Takahashi (高はし) next to Yonehana is one of the shop and I had wanted to visit for a long time. And on Saturdays, there’s a long line to wait. So, I took a day off to have breakfast at Takahashi. Takahashi is open from 8 p.m.

Today’s menu. They don’t prepare much foods. In Winter, Anglerfish (あんこう) and Slime flounder (なめたかれい) is their specialty. We visited there to eat both.

This is Anglerfish meat in a pot. I ordered it as set. So, it have rice, miso soup, pickles and boiled vegetables.

It have much anglerfish meat and its liver, skin and so on. The soup was seasoned with miso. It’s tasty. It’s the tastes of Winter.

And this is boiled slime flounder with soy sauce. Takahashi cut this fish into 3 pieces and we can choose the part. Close to head, middle and tail. We chose tail because we wanted to eat its eggs 🙂 It seems to have strong tastes. But actually it wasn’t.

And scallop sashimi. those slices were thick and it was sweet.

I was impressed by their Winter specialty. But they are expensive a bit. So, it’s not good for breakfast before work all the same. I want to go there again on holidays 🙂
