I love chicken. I always search for chicken dishes having high reputations. I visited Ogawa (おが和) in Ningyocho this time. I thought I should get to Ningyocho station earlier because Ningyocho is difficult place for me to find somewhere. But I could find Ogawa easily. So, I was there 20 minutes before the opening time. But it’s safe. There were already many people waiting. So, I hurried to follow the line. Fortunately I could enter the house just after the opening time.
They say their opening time is 11:25 a.m., it was open at 11:23 a.m. They are long-established yakitori restaurant since 1939. They have 1st floor and 2nd floor. I was brought to the counter seat on the 1st floor. I love their historical atmosphere. Though I wanted to take photo inside, they don’t allow guests to take photo except our meal.
Lunch menu. They have yakitori box (焼鳥重) only. Just it. Simple. It have chicken soup and pickles. It cost 1200 yen. They are open on weekdays only. They just ask as about the amount of rice. The large helping of rice is free of charge. And if you want to have extra chicken, it cost plus 200 yen.
The smell of chicken grilled attacked my nose. I was sure that it’s delicious. And finally, my chicken box was served ! And pickles and soup.
The box have chicken only. Ah, two sweet peppers were on it, too. The box have rice, laver, much chicken meat and sweet peppers. That’s all. The chicken was seasoned with soy sauce and sugar. It had strong tastes, so it went with rice very well. If you love chicken, it’s the fate to eat it in Japan. Chicken is enough without extra chicken.
They have black shichimi pepper and sansho pepper. I put some pepper on it after a while. It’s good, too. The soup and pickles were very light and those gave me good interval. I love it !
