I had breakfast at Tsukiji today, too ! I had an appointment to have breakfast at Torito with my friend, but he couldn’t come because he wasn’t well conditioned. So, I intended to go to Odayasu to eat yellow tail cutlet, but I found today’s chef’s choice at Yonehana is grilled salted yellow tail on twitter. Then I changed my decision and went toward Yonehana. But there were four people waiting in front of the door.

I didn’t mind waiting, but I thought I should go to Odayasu (小田保) today. Odayasu had some vacant seats yet all the same because they rarely accept cover by magazines and TV.

But unfortunately, they didn’t serve yellow tail cutlet today ! Oh my ! Yonehana, did you buy all of yellow tail in the market !? Well, just kidding 😛 That’s OK. There are much foods that I want to try eating on the menus. I ordered a deep fried anago set. Anago is conger eel. It’s similar to eel (unagi). But anago is not fatty compared with eel.

Deep fried anago set (穴子フライ) 1050 yen

Truthfully speaking, I was disappointed by its appearance. The conger eel seemed very thin. Because the coating seemed too thick. But its meat was soft and good.

    I have a question.
Will some restaurants have to move when Tsukiji does? Thanks.

    • Ryoko says:

Restaurants and shops in Tsukiji Market have to move to new Toyosu market or quit their business when Tsukiji will be end.
And I heard most of shops already decided their future.
But those decisions are not exposed to the public yet.

Rumor says Sushidai, Daiwazushi and Yonehana will move to Toyosu.
And Yoshinoya is certain to move to Toyosu.

Tsukiji Outer Market (Shops outside Tsukiji market) is certain to stay Tsukiji.

      • Mike Lutz says:

Good to hear your favorite places will be making the move. Having to pay themselves to move must be hard. Hope all the businesses are still around when I finally get to visit Japan.

        • Ryoko says:

I hope the rumor is true and I wish all of shops in Tsukiji market will continue their business at new place 🙂
