I visited Taiwan Tian Shandin that was open in Hankyu Umeda Sanbangai bldg in September, 2017.

It’s Taiwanese sweets shop. It is managed by the tapioka drink shop named “101”.

Where?

It is located on B2F of Hankyu Umeda Sanbangai bldg connected with Umeda station (JR, Hanshin, Hankyu and Osaka metro)

Underground of Umeda is vast and it’s impossible for strangers to get to the destination smoothly. There’s information counters here and there, so when you get lost, go to there. And they kindly teach you how to get to your destination.

How to order

When you get to the shop, at first, you secure your seats.
After that, you order and pay at the order counter along the aisle.
They call your number (shown on the receipt) after they prepare your foods.
You can get what you order at the “pick-up” counter inside the shop.
After you finish eating, “Return tray” is  on the left of pick-up counter.
There’s sample of tea at “Return tray”. There’re many guidebooks of Taiwan, and we can read freely.

Menu

They cook all Taiwanese sweets in the kitchen. Doufa (tofu pudding), taro balls, grass jelly, shaved ice, parfait, tapioka drinks and so on. Everything looks yummy.
Tax excluded. Everything contains tapioka in it. Tapioka is their specialty. So, they don’t remove tapioka.

Some foods can be taken away.

Drinks. Taro milk (Winter-limited) attracted me. Somehow lassie is on the menu…

Interior

There’re cute wooden tables having two seats or four seats. There’s counter seats along the aisle. Also there’s round table at the center of the shop, but those wooden tall chairs seems to be hard to be seated.

Taiwanese Sweets

Hearty taro and taro balls (芋圓芋満足)

I ordered Hearty taro and taro balls (芋圓芋満足, 830 yen) because I wanted to eat much taro balls !
The staff gave this three things on the tray. Hearty taro and taro balls, Chinese soup spoon and jasmine tea.

Taro balls, tapioka, sweet potato, taro and so forth in it.
The taro balls are springy. It’s the same tastes that I ate at Taiwan and no wonder. Their taro balls are directly from Taiwan !

It’s large for my dessert. It’s light meal :p

It have shaved ice, too 🙂 Brown syrup is rather sweet and the texture is thick.

Free refills of jasmine tea.

It’s so delightful thing that we can eat Taiwanese taro balls in Osaka !
