Popular soba restaurant among older people in the student town.
I went to soba restaurant named Kurumian near my house after years absence.
Ah, it is not near my house. About 20 minutes walk one way :p
Kurumian’s specialty is their handmade soba.
Contrary to busy shopping street, this street is not many restaurants and shops. So few people is always seen along the street.
But this Kurumian was always packed whenever I went to there. That time, too.
I had wanted to eat much that day, so I ordered Sillaginidae (kisu) tempura bowl and soba set (鱚天丼セット, 1280 yen).
1280 yen for lunch set… I think it is not too high within Tokyo, but here’s Keisei Okubo in Chiba. It is high as restaurants in Keisei Okubo !
After a while, my lunch was served. Left is tempra bowl and right is soba.
Soba can be chosen from wide soba and narrow soba, and from hot and cold. I chose cold narrow soba.
Large tempura bowl !
The name is “Sillaginidae” bowl, but there were only two sillaginidae. Another, green bell pepper, pumpkin, maitake mushroom, eggplant and carrot.
Soba wasn’t large. So, I managed to eat them up. Though this soba didn’t have much flavor of soba, it tasted good going down. Ah, I should have eaten just soba. Large soba !
Sobayu after eat soba up.
By the way, I was astonished that some older ladies eat them up with ease. I was over full !
