Precious curry could be eaten in walking distance from the center of Akihabara.
I went to Curry no Toriko in Akihabara area that was featured by popular TV show that sent great number of visitors to Tsukiji last year 🙂
Of course, I went to there two days before the TV show was broadcast :p
I got to there 20 minutes before the opening time and I found there was only one waiting in front of the shop, and I thought there’s no problem even I get to there five minutes before the opening time. So, I walked around the shop and went back to the shop 10 minutes before the opening time.
But there were already around 10 people waiting in front of the shop when I went back to there !
Fortunately, I could be seated last chair. I was relieved.
By the way, I took the photo from strange way, but I had no idea except this way because there was long line just at the back.
I was interested in this shop very much and I asked about this shop to a follower of Twitter sometime. But I hadn’t go there indeed.
He passed away the other day and I thought, “I have to go there now.”
This is the menu. So simple. Three curries. India-like curry, dried curry with beef tendon and “aigake” curry.
“Aigake” means … well. Double. double curry. “Aigake curry” is India-like curry and dried curry together on the dish.
The shop have only one L-shaped counter table along the kitchen.
Two staffs keep working in hurry and never stop. Oh my.
India-like curry have one ingredient from chicken, beef tendon, Indian beans, vegetables and shrimps. And more, you can extra ingredient with 150 yen.
And the first comer can chose degree of spiciness between 1 and 10.I heard that their curry don’t very spicy, so 10 is better if you like spicy foods.
I ordered Aigake curry (あいがけカレー, 1200 yen).
India-like curry was like soup curry. And there were much spices !
I ordered my India-curry with spice level 5. So, it wasn’t so spicy, but I was choked by the spice :p
And the ingredient was chicken. Chicken is their best recommendation. It was soft and tasty 😉
Dried curry was on the rice. It had natural sweetness of minced meat and mild taste. Also plenty of deep fried onion was good, too.
They say it is “India-like curry”, but it have Japanese soup stocks and it had something Japanese tastes. You can’t eat it except this shop. Just Curry no Toriko. Their unique curry. I recommend it.
If you hate waiting so long time, I recommend you go to there on year later 🙂
And another curry shop that was featured by the TV show the other day was this Soup curry Kamui. I didn’t hear that this shop was featured ! I was very disappointed when I saw the TV show !
