Celabrated birthday of my friend with tempura !

I went to Tsukiji on last Saturday to celebrate my friend’s birthday.
The restaurant is Choseian that my friend’s frequently go.
I was late for the party because once I went back home to bring the birtyday gift (T_T)

When I got to the restaurant, everyone were already chatting and eating vinegared horse mackerel with pleasant (T_T)
I sat down downheartedly, but I pulled myself together and ate vinegared horse mackerel.

This was the first time eating vinegared horse mackerel.
I ever thought vinegaring horse mackerel is not good. I also thought strong vinegar flavor kill the taste of fresh horse mackerel.
But this horse mackerel was vinegared very lightly, so the horse mackerel was still fresh and tasty. And sourness of vinegar added the horse mackerel still more fresh flavor.
Very good.

Appetizer was probably jellyfish with vinegared plum sauce.

Cutlass fish tempura (太刀魚の天ぷら)

Princess perch tempura (ヒメコダイの天ぷら)

Tsukiji teach me a lot of fishes’ name that I didn’t know at all. This fish, princess perch was one.

Rolled tuna by Jaapnese basil, corn and lotus root

I have child tongue, so I’m happy with the sweetness of the corn 🙂

Half boiled eggs tempura (半熟玉子天)

We can’t help eating it whenever we visit there! But I think it is better to eat with soba than eat only it 🙂

My friend gave us such a cute present in return for our birthday present.
Japanese basil. Leaf and flower.
At first, when he gave us it, I thought he picked flowers around the restaurant 😛 This is the flower of Japanese basil. I haven’t seen flower of Japanese basil. Cute.

Ohba, Choseian (Tsukiji)

Green chili was at the entrance. Green chili season is now. Here Choseian, too, you can eat soba that is used green chili now.

In front of the restaurant, Cyoseian (Tsukiji)

The birthday party for our friend who is so busy in public and private was held like this in Saturday morning at Tsukiji with concision.
I think such a birthday party is nice, too 🙂
I hope that it is a fantastic year for him 😀

After that, we went to Kissa Hiyoko. Historic architecture have retro atmosphere.

The kissaten have been popular amongst many people regardless of age or gender since Showa period.

Appearance, Kissa Hiyoko (Tsukiji)

My drink was coke float (コーラフロート, 250 yen).
My favorite drink.

Coke float and coffee float, Kissa Hiyoko (Tsukiji)

Left drink is my friend’s coffe float. Can you find difference between them from the picture ? It’s difficult for me … 😛
This kissaten serve drinks and foods in lower price. Four season that we often go serves coke float by 480 yen. The distinction is clear.
Toast is 100 yen, sandwich is from 200 yen. Awesome !

…..Next week of that day, one mournful news shook us.
Kissa HIYOKO end their business end of this month 🙁

Oh, my goodness ! I’m very sad.

I’ll go there again next week.
And I want to drink banana juice next time.
