[Tokyo] Deep fried sardine and red sea bream saikyoyaki at Sayori (魚河岸さより) in Kachidoki


I’ve just been from Hawaii ! And of course, I wanted to eat fish at first in Japan. So, I had lunch at Sayori (魚河岸さより) near my office. This was the first visit to this restaurant. I was surprised at their appearance ! They are in such a small house along the narrow alley. Private house. But this is a restaurant. Maybe the 2nd floor is their private area.

I hesitated to open the door because it seems completely private house’s entrance. But they show their lunch menu in front of the door. So, I managed to open the door. That’s a small restaurant having three chairs along the counter table and another three tables.

I felt like eating grilled fishes marinted with saikyo miso, so I ordered a Today’s lunch set. Today’s lunch set is valuable. The set had grilled red sea bream marinated with saikyo miso and deep fried sardines. And another pickles, macaroni salad, miso soup and rice. Macaroni salad was better than I had expected.

Though I’m familiar with deep fried horse mackerel, I hadn’t heard the word “deep fried sardines”. But it was tasty. Its coating was crisp and its inside, the meat of sardine was soft.

And this, it is the grilled red sea bream marinated with with saikyo miso. Saikyo miso is a miso pastes. So, it’s salty a bit. But I like saikyo miso. The burnt smell of saikyo miso was great. I wanted to keep eating it for a longer time, so I ate it little by little.
