[Takamatsu] Takamatsu Castle Park (玉藻公園)

KAGAWA (Takamatsu etc)

After we enjoyed udon as breakfast at Udon Ippuku, we went back to Takamatsu station. Takamatsu station became cute. It have face !

When I was there in 2011, it was simple building.

Takamatsu station in 2011

And cute ogre there, too. He is Ao-oni kun (青鬼くん).

Ao-oni kun. Ao means blue, oni means ogre. Yes.

There’s clean and comfortable space in front of the station.

By the way, we planned to eat much udon, but we didn’t have no schedule about sightseeing. We had nothing to do while our stomach being full. I had an idea. There’s nice park that have castle close to the station 🙂 This is Takamatsu castle park (玉藻公園). Somehow admission fee was free that day.

Just close to Takamatsu harbor. This park have Tamamo castle (玉藻城). It’s also called Takamatsu castle. Tamamo castle is called sea castle because the moat used to have sea water of Takamatsu harbor. Though I don’t know now it have still sea water.

Though the admission fee was free, the gate of the castle tower was closed. Of course, we didn’t intend to enter it because there’s steep staircase in the castle.

Then, we went to Kawaramachi by Kotoden from Takamatsu Chikko station next to the castle. So, this castle is located very convenient place.

The yellow train is cute. And more, they have many cute wrapped trains.
