The birthplace of Omuraisu ?
After enjoying Naniwa French foods, though I was already full, my friend wanted to go to another restaurant. Nevertheless his stomach was also full !!
Why he wanted to go to the restaurant was because this restaurant is said to be the birthplace of omuraisu.(omuraisu = rice omelette, one of yoshoku)
But there are another restaurant that is said to be the birthplace of omuraisu. The restaurant’s name is “Taimeiken” located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo 🙂
No one can say which is true. Both of restaurant might not be the birthplace 😉
But both of restaurant have a long history and has been loved by lots of people.
We could feel the history in such a historical architecture…
He ordered a chicken omuraisu (チキンオムライス, 720 yen).
Mostly people think omuraisu’s rice is chicken rice. Also this restaurant’s No.1 omuraisu is chicken omuraisu !
Though they prepare another rice like, scallop rice, pork rice, mushroom rice, shrimp rice and so on….
I tasted it a bit, but I felt it is tasteless because my stomach was over full !!! He said it’s so tasty….
I want to visit there again with my empty stomach …
The post about the Naniwa french restaurant that we visited before visiting Hokkyokusei is here.
