Uokame is always fully packed with people at lunchtime
Uokame in Tsukiji area is a regular lunch spot for workers around this shop and there are always many people in the shop.
I had wanted to visit there for a long time, but when every time I went to there, there was no seats or lunch set was already sold out.
They are open as bistro at nighttime. But at lunchtime, they serve Japanese teishoku set only that have fish mainly.
There is an blackboard in front of the shop and show the menu of the day.
Lunch set of that day had grilled Kinka mackerel’s bunkaboshi as entree.
And sashimi, tamagoyaki with eel’s innards, vegetables, rice and miso soup. 1000 yen in all.
I arrived at there just after the opening time, but still it was already nearly full !
I managed to take seat along the counter table.
There is only one menu, so I entered the shop and the waitress lead me to a seat. Only I had to is waiting with a cup of water until my lunch set come.
But about 5 minutes or so, my lunch was served 🙂
Grilled Kinka mackerel bunkaboshi.
So fatty mackerel ! Large ! And its skin is well-cooked. Mckerels caught in off Kinkasan of Ishinomaki is called “Kinka mackerel”.
Bunkaboshi is one of the drying method.
Tamagoyaki with eel’s innards. The innards’ bitterness and egg’s sweetness was good !
Assorted sashimi. Salmon, lean meat of tuna, yellow tail, crab and octopus. The dish was small, but the amount of sashimi was enough for me to have a bowl of rice ! I can’t believe that it is a supporting role !
Every foods were delicious and I think it is enough size for men. I understand why they have good reputation and much guests throughout lunchtime.
If you want to be there, you’d better arrive at there before 1 p.m. because they close as soon as ingredients out.
When I visited there last time at 1:15 p.m., they already closed 🙁
