Comparing the taste of egg tart !
Speaking of confectionery in Hong Kong, I imagine more egg tart than mango.
I hadn’t eaten egg tart. Just I had eaten egg tart-like confectionery sold at LAWSON :p
I examined about shops that have high reputation as egg tart around Sheung Wan and Central, and two shops attracted me.
Though I was full just after breakfast, I could eat one each.

First, Tai Cheong Bakery in Central. I took this photo on my way to Lin Heung Tea House.
Tai Cheong Bakery started their business in 1954. There are some branches, for example, in Tsim Sha Tsui, Wan Chai and this Central branch.
There was line in front of the shop when I was back from Lin Heung Tea House, but I tried following the line.
My turn soon came because everyone just bought it. There’s no eating space in the shop.
I bought just one egg tart (蛋撻, 6HKD) because this was the first time to eat egg tart.
Just after I got out of the shop and I sucked it ! Pudding at the center was wobbly !
I should have bought more.
And second, Honolulu Coffee Shop of Central. Honolulu ?
Showcase in front of the entrance. Egg tart !
Of course, we can take them away, but I wanted to have a break for a while because I got tired. So, I entered the shop.
Honolulu..? :p
It’s the Chinese restaurant ! There’s no atmosphere of Honolulu !
The staffs rushed me. Every staffs moved hurriedly. I ordered an egg tart and coffee.
Egg tart (極品蛋撻, 9 HKD) was served very quickly.
It had firmer texture than Tai Cheong Bakery’s.
I waited for a while, but my coffee wasn’t served. And then one of the staff asked me, “Your coffee don’t come yet ?”, I answered “yes” and then he ran to the kitchen and brought it to me :p Why do they so hurry nevertheless there weren’t many people in the shop ? 🙁
Hot coffee (檀島珈啡 熱, 20 HKD)
I couldn’t relax in the shop, so I drunk it up quickly and got out of the shop :p
I like Tai Cheong Bakery’s one better than Honolulu coffee Shop’s in its texture.
