Nagoya-style breakfast.

Next morning, we had breakfast at Konparu on the under ground of Nagoya station. Under ground area of Nagoya station is very difficult for strangers because it is like labyrinth. you should go there with map. Because we didn’t have map, we lost our way on the way.

Konparu is kissaten expanding their business mainly in Nagoya city. 9 branches are in the city now. Every sandwiches can be taken away.

They started their business in 1947. Nagoya’s specific culture of kissaten is now well-known to us because There are lots of branches of Komeda coffee and Hoshino coffee that is Nagoya-style kissaten in Tokyo.

Many kissaten in Nagoya serve toast and boiled egg by free of charge if you order drinks in the morning.
And the size of foods are large.

Konparu, too.
But we wanted sandwiches that is our acquaintance’s recommendation.

Some sandwiches attracted us. But we managed to order two of them.

Nagoya Cochin egg sandwich (名古屋コーチン玉子サンド, 630 yen)

ふわとろの卵焼きスタイルのたまごサンド。さすが名古屋。ソース塗ってあります!

Tamagoyaki was sandwiched. It is standard egg sandwich for Kansai area.
Do you understand ? Worcester sauce was spread 🙂 It’s the Nagoya-style ! Unexpectedly it was delicious.

ソースが塗ってあります。さすが名古屋!これがとろーりとしたコーチン玉子に案外合う!おいしいです。

Deep fried shrimp sandwich (エビフライサンド, 930 yen)
When we saw it, we thought we should order only one sandwich.

そしてこれまた名古屋なサンドイッチ。エビフライサンド!キャベツとエビフライで盛り上がってる…(;’∀’) そして下には卵焼きが敷いてある・・・。

So thick… Shredded cabbage dressed with mayonnaise, deep fried shrimp and fried egg. Though it was hard to eat because of the thickness, but it was delicious.

これ頼むなら、卵サンドは注文しちゃいけなかった。すごいボリューム(ノ∀`)

メイチカの喫茶店は朝からひっきりなしにお客さんがきていました。

Speaking of kissaten in Nagoya, Ogura (azuki) toast is very popular. I want to try next time 🙂
