Menuke and fried squid’s leg with butter at Kashigashira
Recently I often heard the word “Menuke” around me.
I know that it is one kind of darkbanded rockfish and high-quality fish.
This is the menuke.
Kashigashira’s manager brought to show us proudly.
Of course this was the first time to see the fish and I hadn’t known the existence until I my friends told me about the fish.
We didn’t intend to eat it at all because we thought it was so expensive. An eatery in Tsukiji Market sell boiled menuke set at 5000 yen or 7000 yen (differ in part of the fish)
The manager said that he could get it at lower price and the price was almost the same as the assorted sashimi. So, we succumbed to temptation and decided to eat it as boiled 😛
We already know that we should eat recommended foods , not what we want to eat at Tsukiji 🙂
At first, cod chips (たらチップス) as usual.
Our order usually take time because of special order. So, we drunk and waited with relax.
A, I drunk hot tea because my medical checkup the other day wasn’t good.
Nevertheless I don’t drink much alcoholic drinks, my pancreas wasn’t well state.
Our menuke was on the cutting board. It is similar to kichiji rockfish.
By the way, we had another food that we had requested.
The food was …. used this fresh oval squid’s foot…
Fried oval squid’s foot with butter (イカバター) !!!!
I love fried squid with butter. Everytime I go to festival, I eat fried squid with butter without fail.
Most fried squid with butter at festivals are not used good squid, chewy and hard. Still, I like the taste.
But Kashigashira’s this fried squid with butter was …. sooooo juicy ! Soft and springy texture !!! The meat of squid itself tasted sweet.
Well, leftover sauce after finished eating ….
We put it on the rice !!! I said, “I want to put it on the rice :D” as joke. And the manager really gave us rice !
Also, I said “I love fried squid with butter :D” at Kashigashira the other day and the manager gave me my with ! He’s my hero !
At the same time as, our boiled menuke with soy sauce (メヌケの煮付け) came.
Head part. Mass of gellatin !
So fatty and juicy. Not only its looking, but also its taste was similar to kichiji rockfish all the same.
We were satisfied with menuke, but,
We couldn’t help eating sashimi at Kashigashira all the same.
So, we ate assorted sashimi (刺身盛り合わせ), too.
Bonito, chu-toro, longtooth grouper, o-toro and and tilefish.
After all, my lunch cost me around 4000 yen 😛
