Unless crossing Kachidoki bridge, fresh tuna can be eaten.
I tried to go to Tsukiji while my lunch break the other day, but the rain and wind got heavily and I gave up crossing the bridge and went to Ikenoya instead.
That day’s lunch menu. The menu usually don’t change a lot. Sashimi, grilled fish, boiled fish… they serve fish lunch mainly.
We can choose one small food from ham, mince meat croquette and boiled young sardine bowl.
Though I wasn’t aware of it because I decided what to eat in advance, I found the word “Sardine mentaiko” on the menu. That’s my delight ! I should have ordered it… it can’t be eaten so frequently at lunchtime.
I intended to order “leftover fresh on the spine of fresh tuna (nakaochi) and box of sea urchin set.
But I found it didn’t have sea urchin by the staff’s explanation … 🙁
Anyway, I wanted to fresh tuna, I order “Leftover fresh on the spine of fresh tuna set (生鮪なかおち定食, 780 yen)”.
To my surprising, as soon as the staff took my order, the lady appeared with my lunch. I got my lunch within 10 seconds after ordering ! McDonalds take more time !
The set have nakaochi, pickled daikon radish (takuan), boiled vegetables and small food that I chose.
The lady was proud of this tuna because it is fresh tuna, not defrosted one. Certainly, it was fresh and tasty !
I chose minced meat croquette. I love their mince meat croquette, but recently they don’t serve it so frequently. Maybe it takes much time to cook. So I ordered it with pleasure. Of course, it was tasty as usual, but it wasn’t very hot. I wanted to have hotter one. It got smaller than before.. I wanted to eat more. But they didn’t rise prices after consumption tax rose, they had no idea but make their foods smaller.
